Default Dilatory Crawler build... Or you name it.

Well I had a tuber that was unwated:-( really is a nice tube frame so I thought I'd build it for my self or until someone wanted to buy it.

I really haven't named it yet so if you all want to shoot something out there I'll pic a name. So far I was going to call it the ROACH but not to impressed with the name.

Specs so far.
2.2 moabs
Pede rims.
TLT axles.
55 lathe
Stealth Tranny
Double J Tube Chassis
Maxx shocks (2 with internal springs)
Double J servo upper link mount
Aluminum solid links. 3.75" front and 4.75" rear giving me a 12.5" WB and 3.25" GC
If it makes it to the electronics, it will have-
TQ3 moded for 4ws
Moped ESC
Some battery I have around

And the start.

More later.

I hate to do this but I'm going to..

More up-to-date pics. I worked on this from about 1 to 2:30 am. I was going to try and hold out for a while but just couldn't do it.

bottom links on.

Front Servo/upper link mount... ON. (Raytard yours are on their way)

Front upper links..... ON

Suspension...
The travel was limited because of the internal spirngs, so the maxx shocks loose about .25" when fully compressed.

fully extended.

Fully compressed.

I'll probably try and do the back links at lunch when I go home to eat.

It's going to be in the for sale forum. They just need to approve it.

When I was at Harbor Freight about 2 months ago they had a set of springs on sale so I picked them up thinking I could use this somewhere down the road. I'm not sure what size they are since they all got mixed togeather. sorry.
They are fairly soft so I'm thinking of switching them out or streaching them out to give a stiffer spring to it.

Here is a link to them at Harbor Frieght. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93323
In the picture I used the ones that are in the top, second one over on the far right side.

I was thinking of going to lowes and looking for springs that would work inside Maxx Shocks.

Unscrew the top of the shock where you add oil and drop a spirng in there, screw the top back on and your done. If you have oil in there you may need to drain a bit out to accomidate the added mass. or it will spill out.

If you are going to lowes to get the spring take the shock with you so you can get the right one. since I don't know the size of the top of my head.

No CAD capabilities here. sorry.

I just try stuff and/or draw it on paper if it works great if not oh well.

I don't think it makes you sound stupid more like you weren't thinking about it. As we have all done.

Well on my 30 min lunch I made the bottom links for the back (cut, drill & tap) and installed them. I also thaught I'd show a pic of the foams that I'm running. I left a bit more foam on them than the ones I cut for Microgoat to test for me since this will be a bit heavier. They squish nicely.
