Default new tlt builup

I just thought I'd give a sneek peek at my newest build.Decided to try a standup Stampede tranny chassis to see how I like it.Then I'll try a laydown version so I can do my own comparison. It's the nice part of working in a machine shop. It'll have the usual,
Tlt axles
Stampede tranny
55t lathe motor
HPI Spike wheels
Pro-line masher 2k's(moabs shown)
body undecided

On to the pics. Will post more as I get it assembled.

Yes they are.The only thing I had to do was buy a long drill to ream them out a little to fit.I thought I would give delrin a try.If they fail me I'll just make some aluminum ones.

X4.2 on the lock out's
You should cut the running boards and fenders of the power wagon. Then run that. Nice and narrow then.

nice. I did the same thing with my links. delrin tubing with 8-32 rod through it, and jato rod ends is what i used. they are very solid with no flex. you should be good with that setup. delrin comes in handy sometimes....

Funny you should say that. After seeing how the rear fenders were,I thought of that.Still undecided on the body.I also have a Parma 1991 ford ranger to play with. The wb on that is about 10-1/4" so it would look like a miniature super truck.

Shouldn't bend.I thought 3/16" seemed like a good thickness but then once I got them mounted it almost seemed like overkill. If I make more I think I'll try 1/8" thick.Too bad I'm cheap and work doesn't have anything going to the anodizers or I'd have them done in black.Might hide some of that overkill.

My $.2
The design is great I like it a lot.
The links, Why would you take weight away down low? (Delrin links)Then add weight up high. (Aluminum tranny) It seams that is the opposite of what it should be.

I wanted to try the delrin links because I know how slippery it is.The tranny case was just something I had bought and wanted to use.Once this is built,I will be working on a laydown style chassis which might help a little with the weight issue.
