The design actually allows for less bracing and is plenty strong. I think it could take a pretty nasty fall with out any problems. But once it's just about done I'll see if there is a need for more braces.

The tranny needs a mount for the lower area (normally the top of the tranny). I have to make the delrin skid and figure the shock locations then it's off to the powder coaters.

The tranny mounted this way allows for the lowest weight. If I end up not liking it I'll re-do the entire bottom. If the tranny was mounted "normal" then I would be able to cut the height in half, I was debating for days on how I should mount the tranny, figured this way the drive shafts would be right in the middle. Right now its around 6" tall, a little to high for me but well see how it works out.

I like the position of the motor. But, it may make driveshaft angle too steep. You may have to clock the tranny more. Have you mocked it up with the axles yet to check driveshaft angle?

Not yet. The chassis is about 10 or 11" long so I have some room still for "tweeking". And this will be a belly scraper (maybe) when it's all said and done.

I'll try a quick mock up at lunch.. Now I just need to rember where I left my axles.

Thanks bender.

A low ride height will definitely help. The few Stealth trannies I've seen have the Maxx or Revo yokes bored to slid over the trannies output shafts. Which seems to steepen the driveshaft angles. Although the Pede tranny is alot thicker around it's output shafts, so maybe it just appears that way.

I'm hoping it just appears that way.

I like to use the pede sliders inside the output shaft instead of the revo yokes. I'll find a link on what I do with them.

Thanks for the help, I needed it. I wasn't even to a point at worring about the drive shaft angles.

EDIT: found a pic instead.

Can't wait to see that thing as a roller. Any ideas on what tires you are going to use?

Here's a pic of the Pede tranny with 2.5 yokes installed. It measures about 2 5/8" from the ends of the yokes.

Is that a Associated stealth or a LOSI trans? Looks a little different than the stealths I've seen. Maybe an older model? I know Bender posted up the traxxas...just being curious.

Damn nice looking tuber Double J!!

this project is now DONE. I'll be droping it off at the coaters today.

Here are the last of the pics till the color is on it.

Thanks for all the comments on my design of a comp based tuber. There is also a pic of the driveline angle (mocked) so it looks pretty good. Not to bad of an angle if you ask me.

these are in no order.

This will be a neet truck but I hope you have made the skid really well because it will definetly drag on the ground.

Thanks. I'll let Revoster let you all know what color. He may want to wait till he puts it all togeather before the final showing.

The work area makes me MAD, I like organization but it hasn't been that way for about 3 months.
