The frame/tranny/motor weighs a hair over 3lbs.

One of axles with wheels/tires weighs 2lbs.

Add 6 cell pack, controller, servo, rx, and panels.

I'd guess a bit over 8lbs when done.

You've always had a thing for the "heavy ones" huh Jason?

Yeah, the Scorpion is 13+, my Stick is rather hefty, and after weighing things for Ralph it looks like he'll be over 9lbs.

Got the paint masks today.

That means pics tomorrow.

Considering the paint scheme that's going on, I think daytime pics would be best.

You'll have to wait.

Black and gold.. but with a bit of yellow and orange.

Figured I'd do the hood first to see if I liked the colors. The black is drying on the sides, when that's done I'll do the side graphics.

Here's how the hood turned out.

The gold has a bit of metallic to it, so I tried to mix it with the other colors to keep the metallic look. Hoping the sides turn out a hair better.

Sheldon and I were pounding those things on the road trip.

I looked at the can and thought "Now there's a future paint scheme!"

Hope it turns out well. The font that the guy used isn't exactly like the can but it'll be ok.

Here's how the new panels look. The font isn't 100% true to the can but it'll look fine once it's been beat on the rocks a few dozen times.

Now for final assembly and a few decals.

Need to pick up some black 3mm button head screws to hold the panels on, might try to find those today.
