[quote=SammyXp]Oh man, I am subscribing to this thread. I was eyeing the Tracer Conversion for a rig I'm building for a coworker.quote] I used everything for the Tracer except the actual chassis. Which is the 4 links and link axle mounts. I have the dog bones too, but I never used em. It's all in my build thread. |

I'm gonna try to use some other 1:10 scale turnbuckles or something, for upgraded steering. Also I'm going back and tearing down the gearbox after finding this simple way to lock it, at some random site. http://craftlab.net/epage/etechtltdifferrential.htm |

Well, I got the rest of the tires off with a blow dryer..believe it or not Then for some reason these HPI "24's" popped into my head... After an hour of searching my shed i found em. Pretty narrow...like almost 1/2" narrower than those rpm clawz. well this tire in the pic was the worst one...man i hate how it looks...just temporary i guess. |

I've heard you can use a belt tensioner from a touring car to fix the tlt tranny belt problem. Does anyone know what belt tensioner to use?

Well, here is my final selection I have 1 3/4" clearance under the diff. Here is the "worst" tire, cleaned up by debonder. Has anyone considered using a dremel to smooth the diff case flat with the rest of the axle? you know right at the bottom there... I would guess it would be too much..might even cut into the diff housing. I decided to just go with front steering. I've got the motor mounted..and everything else done...until i get this fabled Tracer kit.. maybe it's like a unicorn and doesn't exist |

well, i ordered a tracer kit, and still havent gotten it in, and about the casings, i shaved mine down with a metal file and some sand paper, i like the wheels, and i wouldnt worry about cleaning them, but thats just how i am, ''All go, and no show'', but it your truck, build it the way you want it, ill post pics of my truck so you can get some ideas with the shaving the casings

Please do. (post pictures of your axle, that is) I know its off topic but i just hit 58 mph with a rebuilt traxxas 4tec 2.5r not amazingly fast...but it was on a private road... like 10 ft wide with ditches on both sides.. hairy times, but no crashes. My friend bought a fairly new laser gun from a police auction. Just thought I'd share that. |
