| Del Monte's '07 Falcon
So with the Socalrcrc series less then two weeks away, I thought I'd better get building. I ran my custom torsion chassis all of last season with pretty good results... 3rd overall in 2.2 with a few comp wins, but this year I wanted to try something different. So I contacted Tom at Twisted Designs and picked up this great looking chassis The FALCON The supplied 1/4" delrin links made for easy assembly, and let the falcon slide right over the rocks. Everything went together very smoothly, and the engraved servo plates are pretty cool too. For now, its running MM/Crawlmaster setup, Pede Tranny, Hitec 645, and Proline mashers, but that's all subject to change Overall, I've been very impressed with the Falcon. Its going to take a few days for me to get used to driving a 4-link chassis, but I've already been able to make most of the obstacles I could with my old rig. With a little fine tuning, this Falcon is going to be hard to beat this year |

| Update:
I didn't really care for the crawlmaster/MM setup, so I switched to an E-Flite Park 400 and Mamba 25. Its not as smooth as the crawlmaster, but I like the extra speed and weight savings of the park 400. I also added a front dig setup and a set of Twisted Tom's super secret custom shocks Worked well enough to bring home 1st place in the Socal series opener Climbs pretty good too Overall, I love this setup... very stable, climbs great, sidehills fantastic. Now that I have some time before the next comp, I have a few more things I'd like to try with this rig to get it working even better |
