I am running the xxx tranny. The xx outdrives still fit. They are molded and made for use from the spec buggy (I think). I will try and get a part number on here. There is a post a while back about them.

Also, I set my slipper real loose and then slowly tightened it. At first I started tight...then snapped an axle. Gotta love that revolver. So I would suggest starting loose and tightening as needed.

Thanks,
Casey

Hello Joey,

you've got your XRC-CF looking very nice. I've got a little suggestion for what it's worth. You're talking about the need to limit articulation some and for me the front shocks look a little to layed down which may cause torque twist and poor side hilling performance. My answer to help both of these would be to either limit the travel on your front shocks to 3-1/2" or get some that are 3-1/2". This takes a little from the articulation and also allows you to stand the shock up a bit more with the 60/40 config. I even have instructions on my website showing how to mod the shocks though you probably know. Looks great

Hey David

I thought you would like this truck. It's taken me a little longer than expected to get it together though, work and such. The shocks are from a Losi XXX-NT and the fronts are alittle shorter than the rear as is, but I'm going to do the mod to shorten them even more and stand them up. I can't wait to get the time to get this truck up and running.

Hey Joey,

Yeah I just have an idea of what works well with the XRC after all of the setups we have ran, and all of the input from our many customers on their setups. Standing the shocks up as much as possible in front really helps with side hilling and torque twist. Also limiting shock travel is a great way to customize the amount of articulation that you have as the XRC with Maxx size shocks has major articulation. More people should try this to limit articulation to exactly where they want it. You can start with small spacers and work your way up checking articulation as you go. Sooner or later you'll hit that sweet spot that's just what you want. It's so easy that the only real factor here is time for those of us who stay busy. Well, the rig is looking very nice. I can't wait for you to wheel it!

Well since our comp got cancelled due to weather I have some extra time to work on my long over due XRC project. Made some extensions so I could stand the shocks up more.

Trying to deciede what suspension set up to run Droop or Sprung.

The first pic shows the droop set up with about 2.5' under the skid. The second and third pic show the Sprung setup with 2.75" and 3" under the skids. What do you guy think?

Welcome to the bandwagon? He has had this for about half a year!

I like those shock mounts. I would set the shocks up 50/50 droop/compression. Put your ride height @2.75" belly clearance.

Made one of the pics everybody is doing showing the AS.

I think I like the 50/50 droop/compression setup, it looks like I will stil need to limit the droop to keep the articulation in control.

Hey Joey, looking good there It kind of looks like some kind of bird or something, :-P. We are currently trying the droop setup ourselves to see how it works on the XRC. The extensions are needed as the XRC wasn't built for full droop from the get go. Right now I see some things that I both like and don't. Maybe the 50/50, spung/unsprung is the hot ticket. We plan to find out anyway. Our ground clearance full sprung is 3" to 3-1/8". This is with all four shocks set to 3-1/2" max eyelet to eyelet. This setting is also good to limit articulation which 45 degrees is the XRC sweet spot.

Good work bro

I would love to see longer sideplates added as an option to the XRC. It would make it tunable for anything!

So did you make those extended plates or did XRC? I have mine all ready for a comp, but won't make one until June. I nitro race first, rock crawling is second (I know, I know). I added a small extender to the rear of my XRC CF, allowing me to stand the rear shocks up a little more while clocking the rear axle.

Nevermind, I see now that you made the extensions. Good luck and let us know how they work.

Thanks,
Casey
