It is finally done.... project Cheap Jeep

I am by no means new to R/C cars/trucks. I have been into them for around 20 years now  (darn I am getting old). I have also been active in the New England rock crawling scene for a few years but I never put the two together until now. I have been working on my TLT build in my spare time for a little while now and finally feel it is time to share what I came up with. I call my crawler Cheap Jeep because I wanted to build a crawler using the stock chassis that would work just as well as some of the more expensive chassis on the market for much less money. I think that I succeeded."thumbsup"

Looks nice! Soon I gotta do a cheap TLT conversion, too.. hope it isnt too hard. Do those pede yokes fit right onto the axles?

Looks good, had any probs with the MGT shocks? Also those HPI wheels just look right on a jeep.

Thanks! Actually the yokes are T-Maxx and they were modified to fit the pede tranny and the axles.

I have not had any problems yet with the MGT shocks but I have not had the crawler going for that long either. I will post up if any problems arise.

I also like the look of the HPI wheels although because of the backspacing they had to be run with longer axles and spacers to stop the tires from binding on the springs and lower control arms.

I am guessing you are talking about wideners on the axles. Yes I did. I believe they are Tobee Craft 32mm.

Well, I got bored tonight and took a torch to a plastic coat hanger. This stinger bumper is what I came up with. So what if it falls off the first time I roll, I like it.
