Default Another Newb. Build

I've stood in the dark looking in the window for a while now. Figured I better join the fun.

Not new to RC but new to crawlers/scale. Used to be a jabrone working at the local hobby shop. I served (2) 9-mos terms at Hobbytown USA.

In my arsonal currently: a Blade CX2, RC18T w/11.1v and brussless, and now the TLT

What I got:
TLT chassis and axles
2.2 rims w/ MOABS
Integy 55T
LRP speedo (soon to be replaced, pulled it off a retired Rustler)
18/83 gearing on Stock tranny
Junfac Links
and the mandatory Bronco body.

Here are some action shots and flex shots.

He wont like it after about three batt packs that thing will start to slip like no other

now I dont know if ur into scale or not but look for a better chassis that wil suit your needs ie One that used a traxxas stampede tranny or t3 t4 type tranny it will work a lot better and serch around a bit and find what you like and dont like just my two pennies

i've run 7-8 packs. I haven't noticed any slippage yet. But it's a belt, so it's gonna happen.

I am also working out minor kinks still.

Problems I've resolved
torque twist
motor stalling
crappy steering
binding links

Would a weak speedo kill my run time. It's a LRP F1. I researched today and found it's rated 16-36 turns. It's getting slightly warm after a pack. I get roughly 10-12 min of run time. On my charger it says my pack is charging to 8.1 to 8.4 volts. Then after I run till the truck wont run it reads 7.2 to 7.3 volts.

do you have part numbers on your tranny gearing 18/90 ? ??

did you mod the motor mount or does the motor slide enough to engage the gears ? ? ??

I was incorrect.

I assumed it was 90. I thought I had seen that number somewhere. I did some homework and found the stock spur is 83. So I am running 18/83.

It's from Robinson Racing. www.robinsonracing.com they carried them at the LHS. And I have the motor set as far as it will go. I don't have a part number because it was an extra part floating around in my box. It makes an awful noise agian the stock spur.

I planned on shopping the LHS for a new spur to solve the noise problem. Chivas72 I'll let you know what I find when I do.

I run the same LRP F1 Reverse with my pede tranny with the smaller spur gear and the stock pinion size for the stampede and an Integy 45t motor. I get great torque, and unbelievable runtimes with my Piranha 1900 battery pack. I ran the truck for a good 1.25 hours and then needed my RS4 to finish the pack off afterwards.

I found the Associated spur (asc6695) bolts right up. It's an 87t so I had to jump to a 22t pinion to keep from modifiying the motor mount. I will find out during my lunch if stalling comes back.

It was a lot peppier. It stalled once, but all in all it held up real good. Using gears with the same pitch helped a little with my run time.
