integy 55t 65t and 75t are the most popular motors. 55t mostly. I read a lot about 12/72 gears also.

umm.. good job on cutting chassis????? what the heck. and what is wrong with your links? time for more practice.

I will take it easy, and then get bored and break it im sure

I push things to the limit

The axles can always be upgraded if i do break them :-P

yeah i just stripped a bevel gear in my axles about after 20 runs, and i am using the 2.2 tires. I think it will be too much, i would use the slipper?

Sounds like you need to shim that pinion gear.

The tranny will be fine, those tires wont hook up enough to stress it much. The axle housing however, wont like any sort of shock.

Wow, why do people...never mind, they won't listen anyway.

Looks great. Buy stock in Tamiya, it will come in handy when it comes time to replace all the parts you are going to destroy.

now I have a good solid thought of what my next build will not look like. thank you. i was having trouble decsribing what I didnt want to do.

I would like tobe able to saay what will break first; but I have a hunch it wont be just one componet.

good luck; bring a bag when you crawl it.

I'm guessing a crawlologist doesnt where nice slacks(), a button down shirt(with pocket protector) and a lab coat, I'm guessing a REAL crawlologist would wear hiking or work boots, jeans, T-shirt or a flannell shirt if it's nippy out.
where did that come from? FYI; not good to wear jeans when hiking, denim chaffes (sp?) everything else is spot on.

Whew. Those are big tires. That's a small body, too.
You're gonna break parts left and right with those tall wheels and that much articulation. Those tall wheels are going to apply way more torque to the steering knuckles and the mounts for them on the axle than they are designed for. Your driveshaft angles are pretty extreme, load them up and they'll break also.
Just go drive it, see what breaks. When it happens, think about what broke and why, and how to change things so it does'nt happen again. That's part of the fun, and also the frustration, of building your own chassis.
It's far better to try and fail - than not to try at all. Keep at it...

but when you can look at something and KNOW it is going to break; why not prevent it? I dont build my trucks so that they will break; that just happens.. but if I look at my build and notice something a little odd- i fix it before disaster. just me.

i do love seeing ppl doing custom work; whatever grade it is.
