Custom Billet TLT Here is a TLT I built a little while back. Some have asked me to post it since they saw it on the trailer in my King Krawler Hauler post in Gen. Crawlers last week. Pretty much all custom build. ;-) I machined the Chassis, Bead-Loc Rims, Servo-4-link Mts.and skid. Also the one of a kind single speed tranny. The pix tell the rest… "thumbsup" http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0001.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0002.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0004.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0003.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0005.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0006.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0007.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...r/PICT0008.jpg |
Looks pretty cool. Really like the wheels. |
that is a sweet build i hope my turns out half that good "thumbsup" |
Nice build, you built the tranny? any pics of the tranny build up, specs on it, ratios?"thumbsup" |
that is sweet"thumbsup" |
looks sweet, now all you need is billet axel caseings steering knuckels shocks and rc4wd drive shafts, then it will be completely billet"thumbsup" |
FINALLY"thumbsup" I have been waiting for you to post this, I guess my nagging finally paid off   You guys have to see this thing in person to really appreciate it, its a work of art and crawls good too! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...G/100_1558.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...G/100_1559.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...G/100_1560.jpg |
awesome pics! ! ! where did you get those white shock offsets ? ? ? |
That is some sweet fabrication. Nice chassis. Nice spur gear, too. That looks beefy. Your body mount solution is fabulous. That C-10 body looks even better with no body posts poking through it. And it looks ridiculously easy to fine-tune the position of the body on the chassis. I spent a couple hours drilling 30 holes in my chassis moving the posts around trying to get the new body position just right. Great idea you got there. Now I really regret punching 4 holes in the '73 Bronco body I just finished for my TLT. Damn!!! I've gotta ask, where did you get those savory blue washers for the allen head bolts? Those just reek of trickness. I've gotta have some... |

And I seem to be getting a bad case of beadlock envy... and skidplate-envy... and tranny-envy... more or less just general crawler-envy I guess... |
That looks outstanding. Very nice machine work. I have thought about making some wheels for my TLT, how did you make the hex? ( I hope you don't say CNC mill) |
Lotta "?'s"..: Chivas72: Those bushings are the ones I make up for the Dual Shock Mounts I make for Bruisers Quote:
The Bodymount holds real good, only problem you don't always get it straight, but is adjustable... ..The trim washers are some I had left over from my Heli days, shop around on some Heli sites and you might locate them:?: if not I'll try to find a link and send it to ya...Thanks for the comments...much appreciated |
WOW, great job it looks very clean and just by looking at it i'm sure it's a capable crawler. I hope you start selling these chassis cuz i would buy one. |

I didn't use a Machine Center w/ a tool changer and all, just a retrofitted Bridgeport |
