Perhaps increase the size of the axle plates and mount a single post front and rear similarly to this.

I thought about that, but I'd like to keep them on the chassis.

Today I installed a real skid plate, instead of just braces. It's made of cutting board stuff, super slippery. One of the holes to mount the tranny is off by a little bit and the driveshafts hit the edges, but it can be fixed, we have the technology. If you notice, there are small little tabs that extend further off the edges. When you bolt it together, these tabs sit below the aluminum so that the chassis does not hit the rocks, only the slick plastic. Tomorrow I'm replacing the bushings with bearings; it is a comp truck after all.

Gotta say this is one of the coolest ideas I've ever seen. Of course this could be why your name is "MrWonderful" :-P

Thanks Z. I am called "Mr Wonderful" for many reasons. This is just one of them.

Cutting board material. Just as slick (if not slicker) than Delrin.

Spent some more time on it today, and was able to get all the bearings in and I also started working on dig. To my knowledge, there are only two bushings in the truck right now. And they are both in the tranny around the idler. Don't ask why, it's a long story. Anywho, whats a thread worth without pics? Nothing, thats what.

dig looks like a complicated thing to do. How hard is it?

dig is when you lock up one of your axels and the other is still spinnig allowing you to do all sorts of really good stuff.

I wish I could take credit for the dig, but one of my buddies was selling a complete setup for cheap, so I jumped on it. From my understanding, it looks fairly complicated, but acutally doing it is straight forward. Search "Front Dig" and several tutorials should pop up. Tomorrow, I'll hopefully be able to button everything back together.

it disengages one of your drive shafts, mostly the rear, this allows you to do steeper down climbs, and allows u to turn a lot sharper, because the back does not spin, allowing the front to spin in a circle, the rear tires acting as a pivot point.

Dig is almost done. It will still need a lot of tweaking to get it 100%.
