Exclamation Rubbing issue with Junfac links

I replaced the 80+ T stock spur gear on my TLT with a Traxxas 72T spur gear.
The gear is slightly larger than the stock one, and I already had to cut some space on my chassis to make it fit. (the opening for the spur gear.)

Now here is my problem, when I add the upper end links the ball hits the spur gear. I already trimmed the end ball so it's flat on one side, but with suspension travel, it still hits the spur gear. What can I do to fix this problem?
Has anyone encountered this?>

try using this spur gear its a perfect match http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXN206&P=K

and this pinion http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXEX11&P=K

you have to take a dremel and trim the tranny for the motor to slide over and th gears to mesh correctly

That's too many teeth.

I want 72T spur and 12T pinion.

**
Seem like this is the only 72T one I could find, and it's only 39mm, almost 11mm less than the stock tlt one, so will I have any problems with this one?
