| Sw2 buildup questions
I started my SW2 build up yesterday. I used the Traxxas 5138 Maxx steering rods (106mm) on the lowers and the stock lower TLT rods for uppers. My wheelbase with the suspension set in the lower forward most holes in the chassis is 13.5 inches. If I set it up like Bender has his set up in the Shaggin Wagon Build up then it pushed the wheelbase to 14.25 inches. These are to the centerline of the axle. Is this right? Did I use the wrong ends or rods? I thought that 2.2 comp rules is 12.5 inch wheelbase. Is that correct? I'm kinda lost HEELLLPPP Thanks everybody |

Do you have a link to his buildup. It would be nice to see what he used.

Sounds like you used the wrong rods for your lower links. You want something that is 4.25" center of ball end to center of ball end. You can make links pretty easy with aluminum tubing. Send me a pm if you need help.

I found out where I was messed up at. The 5138 rods are 106mm the closest traxxas has to 105 that I found. The 2339 are 96mm and are the ones that work correctly. 12.5 inch wheelbase. Thanks for the help guys. So now I have some longer rods and some really longer revo rods that I can stretch it with for fun.

I made my links, and made the lowers 105mm. It put the wheelbase right at 12 1/4". I would guess that maybe you did not put the lower links in the correct mounting holes on the chassis end. They should be in the lowest holes one the chassis, right next to the holes that the skid mounts in. Here's a pic of mine, you can see where the lower links mount: |

The links I first used were 106mm with out rod ends. With the rod ends they were 119mm, and were mounted in the lower most holes right infront of the skidplate mounting holes. I'll try to post some pics of it so you can see what I was talking about.

Its cool. I though that the 105's were with the ends in the package since they were already on there. Once again WRONG. Measure twice buy once I guess. LOL

i had the same problem, so i just put the links were the plates mount to the skid. Worked for me, but i would like the shorter links.
