Default Tuber . . . 1st try

Looking for feedback on a tuber I've been building . . . . decided to sell the frame and try building another. Just having fun figuring these out -- what do you think? I'm not sure how to post web images, so here goes . . . site.http://picasaweb.google.com/dajepps/TuberCrawler22

Thanks -- my brother and I called it the "guppy" and it's looks kinda grew on us. I measured axle to axle and, with the links I built, it measured to just under 12 inches. The next one will be a little more aggressive looking (roofline).

While I am not fond of the shape of it but you did do a pretty clean job from what I can see! Why are those front shocks so compressed?

I was going to post a couple of your images here for ya but it seems Picasa won't allow external linking. Hmmmmm...

Thanks for the feedback.

I like to have the front end "tied down" at a pivot point so that the front shocks will articulate away from the frame as needed when crawling. The picture just shows how I tied it with twist-ties for the picture to show how the frame will sit on the axles once I add the servo, tranny, motor, etc.

It's a linking problem with his pic host. It wouldn't even let me post his pics.

Thanks for posting my pics!! You guys are awesome. Thanks for the feedback! I'll be buying a star soon.

The next frame won't have that high roof line . . . I also have the new rc4wd tranny, but didn't put it in the pics. Looking forward to seeing how well it runs. How high turn rate motor are you guys running? 55T? 65T?

if the roofline was angled down stead of up it would of looked better. also a bit shorter. but whatever floats your boat man. looks good for a first. hope my first looks as good.

Thanks -- I figured that if the length between axles was under 12 inches it'd be within regulations for a 2.2 competition.

Paint it yellow and call it "the bus" and people would freak when it out crawls their rig. I think it is sweet. Nice job.

Good idea! I could weld in a few more windows and add some side-skins and repaint to whole thing yellow. Think I could get a little stop sign to stick out on the driver's side? That would look great outcrawling someone and then use the 3rd channel of the radio to control the little sign as you pass by . . . .
