Default Ugly Duckling Tuber

This is my first try at a tuber. The welds are sloppy but they will buff out.
I have the shocks temporarly mounted so I can get a shake down run on it. All I have left to do is mount the motor and electronics. If I like it, I will build some real shock mounts with a little lower COG.
Specs:
3/16 brake line
TLT axles
Stealth Trans
Maxx Shafts
Home made links with Jato rod ends
Moabs on Pede wheels
55T motor
etc......

Here is a pic from when I started last month.

Here is how it sits now.

Wheel base is 12"
In my first post, I said if I like it, I will build new shock mounts with a lower COG. I guess I need to clarify that I will be moving my shock mounts up to bring the chassis down a bit.

Since last night, I have changed the shocks, wich lowered it a full inch. I then went out for a test run and broke an axle. I will post updated pics later.
Thanks for the complements mxer611 and Bronco.
And Charger, a duck head is what inspired this frame.

When you had the MGT shocks on did you get decent articulation? I've got them on mine and with the blue springs they suck.(For me that is)

They didn't work too well on the tuber, but they work great on my Tracer rig. I think it also matters what angle you have them mounted at.

Default Rare Photo...

The Ugly Duckling was spotted with a broken wing (axle) at the local Sacramento, CA group crawl at Folosom Lake. He's the one at the bottome of the pile. You know, the ugly one.

It definately showed promise out at Folsom. Enough that my green Bronco tried to mount it and was in turn mounted by the Unlimited Clod.

A little progress. I braced the front shock mounts and layed some paint on it. Now I have to put it back together.

And a note to anybody building a tuber. Safety Silv 56 works sooooo much beter than flux coated brazing rod. With the Safety Silv, the welds turned out perfect, didn't need any sanding or cleaning up, and is alot faster.
I wish I would have bought some in the begining.
