My tlt build Chassic pics UPDATE ON 3rd page 1-18-07

Ive said I would make a build thread last week and will today Since i got some stuff in the mail

I have on the truck

Traxxas links
Moab 2.2 tires
Hpi wheels
45t lathe motor
traxxas 2055 servo (front
hitec hs-322hd servo (rear
Unimoger link mounts
traxxas tq rx and tx
Y connector
4 tmaxx shocks
and A metal body pinned on general lee body (temp body i was bored on saturday ok)

The body is just for now i was bored as ever when I did it

Tommorrow i am going to make the driveshafts for until I send double J the money for my Vertical smile chassis.

The servos Are temp also I need to order the moped esc still.

Also I am aware that it is top heavy because of the body and needs to be lowered but i'm doing that tommorrow

Good start, check out a AI runner esc (18+ turns, run a 55t lathe, and one 645 servo) the esc is waterproof also, and only 34.99 from tower (five more than a moped but waterproof)

looks like you have a good start
Im using the stock uncut chassis and if you move your shock mounts towards the center two holes you will get a lot more flex
with my little softer springs i can get 90 degrees of flex
and you also need to move your tie rod to the top (Gives more clearance)

oh yeh im diggin the sheets "thumbsup"

Brandon M 12-27-2006 01:52 AM

Thanks for the comments a couple minutes after i posted this I lowered it the flex sucked then I moved them into the inner mounts and it gets like 85o flex

Crap looks like I need to get some axel wideners to my need list stuff rubs now

Edit heres a pic i just took

I noticed that you triangulated the upper linkes, with the point of the triangle near the servo region...

does it make a difference whether you triangulate it there or triangulate it inside the chassis??

just wondering

thanks

Also In a little while im going to acehardware to get some tubing to make driveshafts for until i get another pede tranny

Slow_Joe 12-27-2006 01:22 PM

where did you get the general lee body from?

Brandon M 12-27-2006 01:25 PM

Walmart

Its off a 1/18 scale diecast car I drilled the holes in the body Its just for now I wount be using it because it makes it top heavy

chivas72 12-27-2006 03:42 PM

IMO and being a complete newb

I would change the springs to softer ones

or

get some longer shocks that are ajustable like mine i think this will get you more articulation

could you post a pic of each axle flexing separatly ? ? ?

thanks for following my build i will keep posted on yours

Brandon M 01-02-2007 10:52 PM

Ordering my chassis tommorrow!

might pick up a couple things from the hobby shop tommorrow

question I want wideners but what ones should I get I dont want alot wider but i want it somewhat wider

and should I go with fat rock c's or wideners first?

pvtjrt01550 01-02-2007 10:58 PM

the axle C's are kick a** and that is a part that takes a pretty good beating if you don't mind some cutting and grinding go for them you can't beat the price and they really toughen up a weak spot on the axle.IMO Blackfoot axles are the cheapest way to get a little wider without completely screwing your steering and just a note about lrp AI runner esc's they have a 3 second reverse delay i love mine but it takes some getting used to...

axle c pic...
