An update for you all! I am in the process of adding front DIG to it. I will take a few pics. It should be done hopefully tonight. This rig is already awesome and this will just make it even more unstoppable. There will be no braking to the rear with my DIG...just freewheeling the rear but im sure it will still help ALOT! Pics tonight!! |

So does front dig make only the front wheels spin or only the rear? Im confused.

Ok cool. I can see how that would help a lot more for climbing.

no it helps for turning radius, it locks the rear axle and allows the truck to pivot off of it.

I not only have some pics but VIDEO TOO! Just waiting for the video to be uploaded. Here are pics in the meantime. EDIT: Video is now up!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lChj3-TSa-A It consists of 2 male shafts, one female shaft, brass rod jb welded to one of the male shafts. Both male shafts tapered at their ends, 2 duratrax aluminum shock collars, one "piece" that the screw threads through, and 2 zip ties and super glue. I jb welded the shock collers overnight and jb welded the piece for the screw to thread into to the collars. Once I figured out where the zip ties needed to be i put one on, ca glued that in place and let it dry. Then put the collar on along with the other zip tie and glued that one too. So far so good It will hit the rocks because its lower than the rods so we will see how it holds up. I used the zip ties cause thats all I had around. If they fail I will figure something else out. This setup doesnt lock the rear but I noticed a good decrease in turning radius on flat ground which should be even better on the rocks Last edited by jamesbernatchez; 01-31-2007 at 06:53 PM. |

i really like your rig, it is giving me second thoughts on my sw2:-( The dig setup is nice, but how do some people get it to lock up the rear, but yours is free to spin? I think free spinning rear wheels would be cool to have in most dig situations! |

i just made up a shaft for my dig, i built it with a nut on it to lock the rear end but i think im gonna make up another one without to try what you've got. sometimes on ledges and stuff it would be nice to have just the front end pulling.
