Holy Crap I'm building a Torsion 4 Attachment(s) Well, I'm gonna try something different. A torsion TLT. But it's alot different than the usual design. The biggest turn off for me with the torsion tlt designs I have seen is the lack of ground clearance and lack of breakover angle. The biggest thing I hate about tlts is having a tranny in the way, so I tried to design something that would combat those two things that I don't like. So with that said I have a chassis with 4 1/4" center clearance and will employee a rear driveshaft disconect simmilar to my last tlt but this time I am using pede shafts, it will also have rear brakes. Also I built it around a bta steering setup, I also hated the steering on my last tlt. So heres the spec list, TLT axles, Tower Pro mg995 servo (Steering), Futaba 3003s servo (Brakes), Mirco Servo (Disco), Futaba 4 channel TX, Stealth B4 Tranny, Hand wound 35t Integy lathe motor, 7 1500 mah AA cells Pede shafts, Masher 2000's, HPI split 5 rims, Moped esc. |
ive seen lots of these but i dont see how the flex? |
2 Attachment(s) The stealth tranny will be mounted vertical on the back bone right behing the axle at a 45 deg angle. The rear drive shaft will be atached to the backbone with some delrin "pillow blocks", the slider will be located on the backbone. The chassis also flexes at the mounting point, don't worry I am adding one link to each end to keep this area from bending. All and all is should have a good cog and great ground clearance. If I can pony up the dough I would like to use a light weight brushless motor instead of the lathe. |
Viva la revolution!"thumbsup" |

Well I have seen through experiance that broke rigs don't win comps......... |
Yeah well you got me there. Maybe I didn't want to finish? |
Mnster did the same tranny setup. Some of the mn guys have the stick mounted like that. Should be interesting combining the two. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...ighlight=stick |
Aw cool, I hadn't seen that rig before, and I thought I was slick. |
You just couldn't stand it anymore could you? Looks like a killer start, I like how you're mounting the transmission. |

So have you figured out how to rig up a force flex servo in that thing yet? :) |
Yeah, can you add a servo that can add controversy? |
Naw, I'm gonna put a pink vibrator on this one.:flipoff: |
I AIN'T gonna say a word"thumbsup" OK I lied SUCKER I knew you would come around sometime.:flipoff: |
Hey now, this is a back up rig, I'm still using the tubers for comps..... Unless this one is better."thumbsup" |
