RCP used to carry parts for the high lift axles. You may want to put out a wanted thread

its been forever but if you are in a pinch i think rc4wd trex/d35/d40 ring and pinions work. i know for a fact that the pinions are cross compatible because i ran tamiya pinions in my trex axles for awhile. but i question even the hardened ring and pinion from rc4wd being tougher that the stock tamiya.

the rcp stuff was good. i dont remember anybody else making steel spools and pinions besides them.

A little late to reply but it may help someone... The RC4WD pinions work well. As for the ring gear, when properly shimmed and lubed, you should have little issue.
