Tlt penguin chassis and tobee extension

Hi all
Been years since I was last on here but decided to build a tlt that I've had in the box for years. I gathered all the parts to do the penguin chassis/traxxas gearbox conversion and also noticed rc mart were doing a deal on the tobee 90mm extension kit so I grabbed this too!
I checked the length of stock tlt shocks and bought some aftermarket shocks (I think they're 4mm longer.
Chassis almost done but as you can see I have a shock length or linkage length issue. I've had to extend the upper links to get them to fit and the shocks seem too long as the cantilever is forced downward, see pic.
Is it just a case of putting limiters on the shock shaft or have I got something else wrong?!

 blast from the past, I owned one of those chassis, are you sure the cantilevers are on in the right postion?

With the extension you shouldn't be using the cantilevers. You wont be able get the correct geometry without some major changes. Should be like this

Rhett, I searched for my old bulid, and I used the cantis with the extension on the stock driveshafts and links and it worked.

Unless you move the mounting points, I don't see how you could get the correct geometry for the suspension. Especially the way his is setup right now. He would need to move his push rods to the upper links, but then all the leverage would be different. It would take a while to find the right positions to make the suspension cycle correctly. I just know most of the time when extending the wheel base we got rid of the cantilever. Its a cool gimmick just not the best for crawling.

Went searching, found your build. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/tamiy...t-build-2.html

Looks like yours had a shorter extension, and the shorter shocks made for better geometry. Your push rods are more vertical than OP's.
