| does anyone know the difference between d40's and tlt's?
I was looking for the difference between d40's and tlt's, and what it would take to fit d40 xvd's into tlt housings, if possible. I thought they were pretty close in size, and I know the pinions will interchange. I was wondering how hard it would be to fit the rc4wd xvd's into the tlt housing, especially since the d40's are at rc4wd for $20 and the tlt xvd's at RCP are $60 how hard would it be to make them fit, if it's possible? |

Per Katan, the D40 axle is too wide for a TLT axle (found it in the RC4WD Archives: http://www.rc4wdforum.com/archive/index.php/t-9492.html) To make it work, I assume you'd have to shorten the axle shafts and find a way to re-spline them. |

Thanks OS, appreciate it. guess I'll be spending the extra coin to get a decent turning radius out of this thing. |

if you really wanted to I think theres a custom narrow sxc10 axle on shapeways I think makes it close to the same width as a tlt-1's axles then just use whatever high angle axial gear you want on the ends Axial SCX10 narrow axle case with 4-link holder (PBWQ97Z76) by hoffy |
