Default \\ Axe Wound, the Vertical Smile //

I've had this chassis for almost a year. :?
I finally got it done.

I'd like to personally thank:
Double J., Rick's R.C. Racing, Cubman, Raptorman57, Phishead1101, Lady Spanker,
Norwegian Legion,SlinkySam, run2jeepn, T.C.S., HolmesHobbies, S.E.R.C.R.C., E.T.R.C., R.C.C., ETC...

I'm sorry;
I didn't take any pics while building it (no camera).

Parts list includes:
  • Double J's 2.5" Vertical Smile ( http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51442 ) chassis (powder coated Candy RED)
  • Moabs on Narrowed ( http://rccrawler.com/narrow.htm) Pede Fr. wheels (R.I.T. dyed Cardinal RED)
  • Raptorman57's Front servo/link mount
  • Parma '72 Chevy Body, painted by Lady Spanker (spanker's wife)
  • TLT axles locked w/ JB weld
  • Rear axle clocked, for shaft angle & clearance
  • Stealth tranny; w/ the outputs drilled through the solid part, not the slit. (Thanks Dbl. J)
  • 84t spur
  • 15t pinion
  • MAXX shafts (from Cubman)
  • HolmesHobbies 45T Axiom ( Axiom Motors )
  • 4" shocks
  • 3 have "Losi white" springs w/ 30wt oil & 1 has a "T-Maxx rear" spring w/ 70wt oil = NO torque twist!
  • SlinkySam's Fat Rock axle C's, front & rear ( » Fat-Rock « Axle-Cs )
  • run2jeepn Bearings & aluminium knuckles ( TLT Bearings and Knuckles )
  • Hi-tech 5645 w/ Blue alum. arm
  • Regular Rooster esc.
  • TQ2 radio
  • Venom 3000Nimh 6 cell (for now)
Soon to have:
  • Unimoger's Ultimate wideners, for the Blackfoot stubs that are sitting here.
  • custom Venom 3000Nimh 7 cell
Here is my chassis & rims, before P.C. & dye

Sitting at 3" wide next to an SW-2

Originally, I planned on using a Nitro Pede trans & DUIdirk's "Reverse Cowgirl" set-up...
But I ended up giving the Pede back to N.L., & buying the Stealth from Dbl. J.

Again at 3", mocked-up w/ the nitro Pede tranny

one more

Here's the body before I went sticker crazy:

Thanks.
&
Yes it has..!

This rig blew me away w/ what it could do, when the slipper wasn't slipping & the elec.'s weren't glitching... (I gotta figure that one out! )

What do you mean "Novelty build"?
This chassis is pretty dang sturdy!
It could handle whatever you wanted to put it under.

nice, those c-hubs and knucks are killer together.

the novelty build i meant instead of a body making it look like an old stagecoach. thats what popped in my mind when i first saw it....the shape of it.

Thank you everybody.

V.S. all the way!
This V.S., is the 2007 U.S.R.C.C.A. 2.2 CHAMP!

The Hustler is almost ready to go!
I had to take my Pimp Cane apart though...

Yes, it will be at Joey's on Fri. night... You may want to get there early too...

No. :-(

I don't have any Idea what could be wrong w/ it..?

I need to try getting my esc. & rec. away from each other.
If that don't work; I'll try using the TQ2 radio instead of my TQ3.
If that don't work; I'll put caps on my motor.
If that don't work; I'll..? (buy a new esc.)

Nice build. Love the VS Chassis, just got mine today. I was playing with some of my radio equip last week, and found that when I had my Rooster on a brand new TQ2, it would act strangely fhesitating and even went full throttle without ever touching the controller. I tried it again on my Airtronics MX-3 fm and it worked perfectly. I also have a TQ3, I'll have to try it with that and see if it makes a difference. Great rig

Thanks & congrats!

That's what mine is doing... FULL THROTTLE!!!

I was using a Traxxas 2ch. rec. w/ a TQ3.
Could that be part of the prob, I wonder??? ...hmmm.
I'll check that tomorrow.

Thanks for the input too. btw
