Looks like a good start. What tires/wheels are you going to run?

Matt

I have just orderd a TLT with the intentions of building a crawler, but have no idea wht chassis i want to use.

Is that chassis set up for the stock TLT tranny?

Also, what is the wheelbase?

Your project looks like something I'd be interested in.

FrankyRizzo 01-24-2007 05:19 PM

Interesting how you pinned the drive shaft.

Looks good.

chivas72 01-24-2007 05:25 PM

can you post some close up pics of the tranny spur gear ? ? ?

awsome build

raul duke 01-24-2007 06:17 PM

Theres a good chance those drive shaft pins are gonna catch stuff. I used the long grub screws for the drive yokes and they fit perfect with nothing sticking out. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...drivegrub2.jpg

Looks good. Nice and clean.

Looks Good

Way to go:lol:   . can't wait to crawl with you so hurry up and finish? When are you expecting your beadlocks?

$maxx 01-25-2007 08:06 AM

Thanks , this web site , and the crawlers at , SIRCC , Southern Indiana Radio Control Crawlers , have answered all my questions , and created a big want list :)
My frame has a 12 1/2 " wheelbase , uses Traxxas Stampede tranny .
Moab tires , if and when , the beadlocks ever arrive , I am "Still" waiting :-(
Thanks raul duke for the suggustion , I need to change mine

Crawling is SO much fun :)

dezfan 01-26-2007 07:58 PM

the sw2 chassi will use a stampead trans and not the stock TLT trans...also the sw2 has a wheel base of about 12.5in

Ssmtc05 01-27-2007 07:55 AM

Not to go off topic but i just ordered my sw2 chassis and i have a broken stampede in my room with a perfect tranny do i need anything else like drive shafts for the tranny or do i use the stock ones off of it? By the way truck looks good cant wait to build mine.

Crawlin'MA 01-29-2007 01:06 PM

Looks awesome.....what are you using for spacers for the upper shock mounts?

$maxx 02-04-2007 07:32 PM

The white standoffs are from Lowes building supply store from all the nut/bolt drawers .
Today was my first day crawling on rocks with my first SW2 size truck .:-P

Pics of my baby ;-)

I am happy with how it operated , and will make changes as I learn what will help :)

$maxx 02-04-2007 07:47 PM

Of note by the way , I had to narrow these Traxxas rims to use on my truck because .............the beadlocks rims , that I ordered from RC4WD in DEC of 2006 , are STILL NOT DELIVERED as of Feb 2007 :!:
thanks a lot RC4WD for having my money since DEC , while I have nothing from you for my money  in Feb :!:

One thing you might consider is where your upper links are mounted on the frame. Bender designed them to be in the holes right above your lower link mounts. I had mine like you have yours, and then moved them to where Bender designed them to be and my truck climbs much better. Just a helpful hint."thumbsup"

Have you tried contacting him about it directly instead of openly bashing him
on a public forum? Thats a good way to piss some one off and make them harder to deal with. Its best to handle things directly with the vendor you are having problems with. If that doesnt work, and you cant get your money back, THEN bash them on a public forum. "thumbsup"

$maxx 02-05-2007 06:26 AM

Thanks Tanis for the tip on mount location , I will try that .

Rivbluenoma You are correct , and that is what I have done ..........till the third month came around , I did receive a email in JAN , but with nothing for my money :!:
It is now Feb 5 th of 2007 AND I HAVE NOTHING for my money :!:

$maxx 02-05-2007 07:46 PM

news flash

RC4WD has now contacted me three times regards my order just this pm ,
RC4WD is really sorry for their problems with my order and is shipping my ordered two complete sets of beadlocks , and refunding the price of one set to me .:)
AND , AND .............giving me a 30 percent off my next order :)

So RC4WD is going above and beyond requirements to show how they can make up for a mistake / error on their end . "thumbsup"

RC4WD giving me a free set of beadlocks , AND 30 percent off my next order is OUTSTANDING "thumbsup"

THANK YOU :)
