Looks like an awesomely compact drivetrain setup... with some tweaking, it looks like it would be easy to hide in a scale rig...

Compact? Hes got a motor going into a GD600 mounted on the axle. Then from there, theres a shaft connecting it to where the spur would normally be. Thats compact? Theres more there than a normal crawler would have. Its a killer idea, though. Nice work!

There's no big spur to deal with on the GD... when mounted up front in a scale rig, it should be easier to hide under the hood.

Thanks, no acton shots yet. I'll get some next sunday at the comp.

As far as the drivetrain being compact, the only wieght on the chassis is the low profile GT2 stealth tranny & a micro RX. Everything else is on the axles, below the top of the tires.

Looks like the BMVII had a good day on the rocks.

Congrats on the win!

I know it is a very different setup from your pimpslap, but how does the new setup compare?

Thanks, although the set-up is quite different, they actually handeled quite similar. Must be the torsion thing. Shut d's, Kila's, Ryde's pimp slaps all did well, 'cept of Rydes love of red balls.

Mahalo's for the info.

Interesting that both chassis handled similar. Probably right on the torsion thing.

I did'nt realize you were using Masher's and not Moab's. Thought Moabs were the tire of choice here?

Guess Ryde needs to put blinders on his rig so it does'nt get so turned on by those Red Ballz

How do you find the rear dig setup. Does the wrench add much weight to the vehicle and how do you have the nut fixed to the axle? I was thinking about using a two washers with a crimped surface to act like a brake pad.

I used the Mashers for the comp because I knew everyone else were planning on useing Moabs, I wanted to get some kind of advantage. Looking back, I'm not sure if they provided me with that or not. The M2K's climb better, but the Moabs definitely side hill better & that's what I could of used a little more help on.
