So I got the suspension hung tonight, I definately need some softer springs. I have some White Losi's on order so hopefully they should be here in a few days. When I mounted everything I had the shocks about 2/3 compressed that should bring the ride height down another inch +/-. It should keep the same flex that it has now. Im not sure how much is too much but I think that it has enough! That puts the front frame rail just over the servo and it will swing right over top of it nicely! I realy dont want to cut the front end up, I really like how it turned out. Its one of my favorite sections on this build. I have a bad habit of making things more complex than they need to be.

Everything is mounted and I am satisfied with just about everything so far.I know that it sits high, its just over 3.3 inches right now but with different springs I can tune it down some. If I have to I can re adjust the AOA on the shocks. Mr. Holmes PM'd me lettin me know that hes shippin out my brushless setup tomorrow, Hes been a big help and I appreciate the info that he has shared. I still need to find a battery setup, im thinkin 2 3 cell saddlepacks inside the cage down low, not sure how im gonna mound my radio gear yet but it shouldnt be too hard.

Anyway its gettin late and im off to bed. constructive critisism is appreciated, function over fashion. Im pretty new to this so if you seasoned crawlers out there see somethin that you think would improve this build, please let me know! thanks again to all who have actively participated in this build thread.

xoxo

Nice set up man, I like the look so far. How heavy is it? I want to build a tuber also but I hear all the weight up top raises the COG. Please let us know how it performs after you get your motor. Again great build so far!!!

Hey thats chick to you! its not as heavy as I thought that it was, but i definatel could have skimped on the material in some areas more than others. I started this project more as an experiment. I originally had a
K2-3S all mocked up waitin for the electronics, but it just seemed too plain. I love the scale lookin stuff alot so I decided to go that route instead. i still have the frame but its just hangin on the wall... Maybe later ill build a tow rig out of it or somethin. I have had waaay too much fun on this build that even if it runs and handles like crap, it was still worth it just for the experience AND to be able to say that I have the Baddest VW crawler in the Land.

time to go to work.

xoxo

I had my super apart the other day and weighed the chassis, 4.5 oz. with the skins. You can build them light if you want. Great job on the build!
