Natalie, you did a really good job on your tuber frame. I don't even think that you could hire a pro who could do as well. I'll tell you one thing, if you show up at any meets with that Bug, all the guys will take one look at your Bug and pack up and go home. And tell their mommy that they got beat by a girl. :-( |

It has to be one of the nicest build up on RCC site to this date. The details and the craftsmanship of the tube chassis is downright amazing. Now I bet it is a great feeling to be able to wheel the snot out of the VW after the unholy hours spent fabricating it.

But now you know how to braze better because of it. How did you prep the pliers before brazing? |

Awesome tuber....very unique! The detail photos show how nicely everything is built. I like the cage design and the way the body fits so well too. Jay |

Hey Nat, How are those punisher shafts holding up? Any probs with them coming off the trans shafts? I spent several hrs and half a dozen drill bits trying to get through mine for my scale rig. If these are good I might give em a try on the next one.

wow, i wish some of the chicks i hang out with accually made a crawler instead of busting mine all the hell. that tuber is f'in crazy. To bad you arent a few states north...it would be cool to have a chick that could wheel as well as build around the crawling spots and the track

Cool, thanks for the input on the punishers/ crap shafts! I ended up using Maxx shafts on mine, I am just not looking forward to drilling another set of trans shafts.... those things are hard as hell! I bought the R2 from Finishline here in Denver so I checked the quality very close before buying and a few others here are running it and liked it.

Wow - definitely one of thee cleanest tube chassis builds ever. One of those builds you can look over for an hour and keep noticing more cool little touches everywhere. Natalie, that rig is beautiful. Your attention to detail is well above average. Excellent work! I've been looking at Punisher shafts too, but I keep hearing bad feedback on them! Well, the pictures look nice on thier website, anyway. Last edited by Big Mike; 03-20-2007 at 07:26 AM. |
