Default New rig, still TLT

I probably love RCP more than you

The fact that I can still order parts for these axles is an amazing thing! Not too many places have parts and the aftermarket is practically gone

Default New rig, still TLT

And the chassis I’ll be using.

Pretty new Bomber chassis! This wont be much of a fast rig, just want it to crawl really... Not diggin the body panels, for sure gonna strip off all the decals but I’m unsure from there. I do have the rear sway bar, but I might not use it. I plan to take off the rear spare tire carrier soon

The skid is from a Wraith. Thankfully the width was spot on and the mounting screws seem to be ok (time will tell) The links came from The Crawler Store. Ordered a “Wraith Kit” which is basically comprised of uppers and lowers. Aluminum links with Revo ends

Wraith trans, Gonna be running a brushless motor at least initially, should be interesting. Any opinions on this motor? Might it be too much for a Crawler? I’ll be running some pretty crummy driveshafts, might try and find MIP’s in the future.

The rear has RCP lockouts, full bearings. The front has MIP CVDs, RCP Knuckles, and stock Cs. I’d love to find a pair of unclocked aluminum Cs. Like FATROCK or MSD.

Also mounted up a Hitec HS645MG Servo with aluminum horn to an RCP Servo plate. Used STRC Servo blocks and clamps. Went with the stock TLT steering links (with Axial ends) till they become a problem

That would be incredible to find Cs! Thanks for looking!

Small update on this build: all I’ve managed to get done is to begin assembling the rear axle. I used an RCP link mount I had still; I really dig the look! I need to order hardware, then it will be complete. Almost ready to hang these axles!

I understand that. It’s that time of year I work more and play less with my rc stuff. I’ll be watching for updates on this one.

Small update! (Finally) Got the axles mocked up. Going with SCX10 shocks for now. I modded them with a rod end, and used a spacer to achieve the length I wanted. I’ll have to shorten the rear uppers a bit, but that will come in time. Still need to order hardware for the axles and hang the front, but I’m stoked to be making progress!

No Problem, thanks for looking! I appreciate it!

I'll shorten the links, probably by shortening the aluminum rod, I'm sure I have the right size tap at work

The Bomber Chassis simply isn't going to work. The Shock mounts in the front are too far apart for the TLT axles to work properly with 2.2's.

So I won an old K2 Chassis on evilbay and will be putting all these parts on it. I think I'll like it better anyway. I wasn't really a fan of the Bomber's looks...

Updates to come!

Here is the chassis and the trans. I need a full size Servo to run the dig, I need a bushed ESC and I need a body. Any suggestions for a body? It has to be lexan, look old, and play well with 2.2s

Progress:

I love these stock Axial 27t motors. They’re cheap! Same with the shocks...

Seems I’ve taken a few steps backwards... axles off so I could finish up drilling the chassis and whatnot. Got my dig all set up and installed a Hitec HS-311 to control it. Mounted an SCX radio box and the shock towers. I need to fab up a front mount for the box so it sits level, and shorten some hardware before I remount the axles
