Default what do you all think?

I finally got her up and running, she is a lot of random parts put together...
she is an ugly mother, but she runs surprisingly well... gotta love that crazy gear reduction of the r1 tranny... i think she tops out at 1-2 miles an hour.... lol.... i haven't really seen anyone do this, so i figured i'd post it....

and yes she is a little top heavy... if i pass 70-80 degrees of chassis tilting she flips over...

any comments and suggestions welcome...

she is a little over 15 inches long, and the central ground clearance is a little over 3.5 inches...

no sweat, no offense taken, i thought about that, but i can't get the wheel base length that I want, and with the long chassis plate, it slides over things really well....

considering the bulk of the weight is in the giant tranny, i have it at the very bottom of the chassis, so the center of gravity is as low as i can get it... i can move the reciever box, and stuff, that might help a little... but i really like the way it drives... the high center of gravity also helps things in terms of climbing...

i have a smaller scale size truck, and decided to build this monster to try and make a mudder.... :-P ..... but its way too slow...

thanks for all the comments...

It's ugly but it looks like it works. If I were you I would try and drop the transmission outputs to get the shafts lower.

thanks for all the comments...

to get around the steep angle of the lower ouput yoke, i made the upper links a little longer to make my pumpkin (axle) sit at an angle instead of 90 degrees... its more like 80.... i was getting some sticking with the axle straight up and down...

i may lose about a half a mm from angling the axle, but the high central cround clearance is awesome... i can actually go up steps, (when i get better at driving it... )....

ill try and put some picts of my truck in action.... i'm not sure what kind of shell i should put on it...

does anyone know of a way to go from a 6mm output yoke from the tranny to a 5mm output yoke to the axle?

ive searched but can't seem to find anything... what i have right now seems to work ok, but i'm looking for a better alternative...

as for the different chassis, flipping it over etc etc...

yeah.... but i like the way this truck runs... it runs great, can climb over all types of crap...

and the fact im trying somthing different is pretty novel...

i already have a more scale truck on a k2-3s chassis, with r-2 tranny beadlocks etc etc....

but i want this truck to be the basher... stopped by nothing...monsterish.... evilish... ..frankenstein syndrome.. ha ha ha...

i did lower it a little by attaching the shocks a little higher.... but shes a beast, but i like it... dunno why.. i just do....

also, she does look top heavy, but she isn't that bad... when i have time to take it out again, ill take some picts... no poser picts... its kind of hard to flip her over.... with the stampede tires, she is now just under 3.5 inches in central ground clearance....

i don't think that is too bad...

You might check the Traxxas yoke sizes, it's my understanding from another thread that the stampede and jato yokes have different size shaft sizes. Or it may have been revo yokes, I can't remember for sure, but the dude used a different Traxxas yoke on each end of his drive shaft.

Hope this helps,

jim

thats what im doing right now... but the 5mm output yokes doesn't fit that well on the 6mm shafts... ill play with it some more to see if i can make it work...

thanks for the tip...

Hey i think you should make an aluminum plate and put it on the front side of the lower part of the chasis to hold the reciever and such, but it looks awsome. I hope you wouldnt mind if i copied you!
