Hello all. After drooling over this site for a couple of weeks I figured it was time to try and build my own crawler. This is my first time building anything like this so feel free to give me your opinions. I have gotten as far as mocking up some of the suspension but I think my ground clearance is a little low. It sits 2 1/4 inches off the ground and the highest point is 7 1/4 inches. Any input (good or bad) is appreciated. I dont think I know how to post pics...........Stupid computer illiteracy |

the tube chassis looks killer. you may want to stand your shocks up more vertically for more stability. laid back like that you will experience a lot of torque twist I think. and that will raise youre ride height also. But i like belly draggers so don't go to high.

I was planning on running the rear a bit steeper than the front. Thats the best place I could find for the front with keeping it that low. But if I end up raising the ground clearance then I can change the shock angle. Thanks for the input. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

I got a little more work done on it today. I raised the ground clearance and reset the front shock angle. I still have a lot to do. More bracing, body mounts, front dig, and on and on and on. Anyway here are some pics of the progress. Let me know what yall think. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171609869 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171609869 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171609869 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171609869 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171609869 |

Well, I got the body mostly done and the front dig setup built and installed (except for mini servo). I still need all the electronics and some other finishing touches before I can get it on the rocks. Or sell it so I can build another one. Does anyone have any ideas for a name? I was thinking "Fire Hazard". What do ya'll think? http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171939395 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171939395 http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/attac...1&d=1171939395 |
