| Need Advice on a motor!
Hi Guys, I am soon to be building my first crawler. It is a TLT based with a K2-3S chassis. I am going for a multi purpose trail rig, with climbing ability. That being said, I want a little bit of speed. Would a 35T lathe motor give it decent enough speed, or will it make it tooo fast for climbing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot Dan |

I would say it would crawl "decent" not great though. A 45t would probably be a better mix of trail/ crawlin especially if you run a 7 or 8 cell pack. |

Thanks, I was thinkin that might be the case. I am going to be using sub C 6 cell matched packs. These are from my racing days. 3300, and 3800 packs. I think they will pack plenty of punch. I also have some 15-1700 receiver packs hanging around I could use. So you think the sub Cs would give a 45t a little extra umph?

I have seen alot of different packs run on all kinds of rigs some better than others. I know Jason ran some AA 8 or 9 cell packs with a 45t on his rockracer and it crawled great and had a ton of wheelspeed. I run 11.1v lipo's on most of my rigs (accept my Novak powered truck) I like the light weight and TONS of wheelspeed..... The 1 hour runtimes don't hurt either! |

Yeah, I was thinking about going lipo, till I put a really old 3300 pack, that I considered junk for racing into my TXT and got about 75 minutes out of it. I think I will just run those.

Thanks for the help. I think I will just go with the 45t. Seems to be a good middle of the road.
