Default looneys sinis(ter)tuber

ok well i have been working on this tuber for a while now. i wanted it to be my new comp crawler but i have still yet to decide whether or not to keep it. this is by far the best tube chassis i have built. it is brazed brakline with a stainless steel skid/wrap around body panel. it has all stainless hardware and now sports silver mesh roof and hood panels. i have a set of new tlt axles on the way with wideners. i have teflon coated aluminum shocks from associated's gt set up for a droop suspension. i will run a the m2ks and narrow the aluminum wheels. the chassis is set up to use a r2 but any tranny could be modified to work. i want to finnish the project but i really really want a Mad Force so if i find one its gone. if i don't though i will add pictures as i finnish the truck. i will make top links, make stainless link mounts, stainless servo mount, and finnish off all the suspension when the axles arrive later this week. i will post some more pictures tommorrow with the finnished panels and all. so what do ya'll think? good? no? any criticisms? thanks.

well unfortunatly i have to throw this on the back burner. now all i have is the chassis. i sold the axles so i never got to finnish the links. i really wish i had the money to fund this thing but so much crap is going on i don't know. i have big block t maxx project, my brushless propulseR with 64 chevy hardbody, brushless blazer rc10gt, and the 1/8 camaro. but i should soon have my job straightened out and my money for school so who knows. i will still have it listed in the FS just in case it can go to a better home. By the way i didn't get all that much feedback. any comments on the design would be appreciated so i can plan/design the next one accordingly. thanks

sorry i don't have a camera right here but in the red circles are the mounting points. the front use 2 sets of holes in the tranny plate mount. the rear has bolts brazed to the tubwork that the link ends go one and are secured by a nut. hope that helps

sorry let me clear it up for you. what i was tying to say was: 'how did you mount the links to the axle?'

and i didn't finnish the linkmounts for the top links but on the rear axle i just made a tube truss like mount which had sheet steel mounts that bolted to the leaf mount holes. confused yet?

i have really been debating getting a vendors star on here the past year and builing tubers for customers but i never seem to have much success with the ones i have tried to sell. i love building them and all but it is really discouraging when very few people seem interested in your work. i worked hard on this design, two months actually. not trying to gripe too much but you know. i already have a new chassis in the works which is a little less bold. also i have a pretty nice idea for tube axle trus/linkmounts for the tlt and hl axles. hopefully i can combine them all into this tuber or the next.

I like the way it looks, I think a not so sloping up hood would look better though. Keep up the good work and lets see more!!

thanks 666. yea i new the hood was alittle much but i need to post more pics at different angles. it fits the personality and profile of the rig good. the next tuber is less dramatic and doesn't have the odd hood. the main thing with this tuber was the lines and it just flowed so i went with it. sometimes it works out and sometimes it don't.
