Default ILRCRC's Torsion

Before I say anything, I'd like to give a HUGE THANKS to Joe, Dezfan. Without him this build would not be possible!

Today I recieved some stuff from Joe. TLT axles, Stealth tranny, shafts, battery, BL motor. I already have a Mamba 25 esc, Fat-Rock Axle C's(Thanks Slinky-Sam), and on the way is some bearings from R2J. I also owe a thanks to Unimoger for the shafts.

After this is posted, I'm going to get to work on getting the Axle C's on the axles.

On to pics. Just a pic of all the stuff. Oh, and don't mind the wrong date on the pics, I just changed the batts and forgot to set the proper date.

Well I'm not going to be able to get a whole lot of work done tonight. We have a realiter coming to look at our house in about an hour. After she leaves, I'm going to get to work and probably be up till 2 or 3 in the morning.

EDIT: I ran into a few more complications, so its not going to be running as soon as I thought it was. I'm going to need a adapter plate for the motor and the screws for the diffs aren't with the rest of the stuff.

About time you start a REAL crawling thread, only been here like 3 years!:-P

What chassis are you planning on using (yes I know it's torsion based) w/ all those parts I gathered?

Default ***update***

Between last night and this morning I pretty much got the chassis done. I'm currently working on a wedge for the rear axle. I still need to get some collars so I can keep the axles in place and the tranny mount. I plan on getting those later today. After I finish this wedge I'm going to get the shafts on the tranny and mount the tranny. If everything goes right, It'll be running by tonight. I'm not going to be able to run the brushless just yet because I need some connectors and an adapter plate from JRH. The tranny is just sitting on the plate to see how far the two rods would sag. Looks like they'll do fine with the lightweight brushless. Well enough talkin', heres the pics...

Looking good CJ!

I hope you plan on using more than 2 attachment points for joining the chassis plates to the axles.

Maybe. I tried pulling them off, and they wont budge. The way they set on the little arms where the servo would be, theres no leverage to pull them off. I probably will mount it to where the servo plate would be mounted, but for right now, it'll do.

Updated Pics.

Got the servo and tranny mounted. I'm not going to put a wedge in because I can't figure out to screw it down when you cant get a screw driver in it. I'm just waiting on the collars and I guess I need to get some shafts that are actually a match.

Pics....

Excellent build so far. I think I'm finally inspired to start a second build just finished a tlt/sw2 but I want to start a tortion build. Thanks for the updates on your builld and keep those pics comming. By the way are there any drawbacks (besides the lack of articulation, of course) to tortions, I mean everyone just uses them for comps, are they not that fun to drive or somthing? One more quick question. With tortions being so light (crawler minus the chassis weight) couldn't you get away with a 45t or even 35t motor and still have the torque because it's lighter?
