It'll probably be at least a month before anything is ready. I need to get all the material ordered, as well as a bunch of other odds and ends tied up first. ;-)

will your leftover sw2's go on discount? Or will the SW3 be more expensive?

The SW2 isn't going anywhere, it'll still be available along with the SW3. Price is still up in the air at this time. Plus, I'm not allowed to discuss pricing outside the vendor's forum.

Rc EnthuSiasTs 02-26-2007 08:27 PM

i am very happy to hear the sw2 will still be available, i still really like its design.

microgoat 02-27-2007 05:47 AM

It must be something special if Digler can win a comp with it

Nice work there. I might have to pick one up.

rockbender 02-27-2007 07:11 AM

Thanks Tim. 8)

I do send the raw blanks out to black anodize, then machine them. It makes the profile of the chassis and the logo really standout. ;-)

gopher 03-01-2007 08:58 AM

very good lookin... now you've got me looking at the sw3... gah... I need more money so I can build a few crawlers ... so much I want... so little money

theTman 03-01-2007 05:26 PM

does the sw3 still have the same list of things you need to buy seperate to get it working, or does it need various other things, or does it need little else? i'm trying to figure out what i'll need for my first build, which i hope to be an sw3. i'm not talking about electronics, shocks, and wheels, i'm talking about what else you need in the way of misc. hardware.

Finally some action pics of mine..... If u ever doubt the benifit of high clearance links, look at the first pic.

Thanks to Dan and Thor at Finishline R/C for the great pics!

Tanis 03-01-2007 06:42 PM

I just changed our lowers to highclearance before the last comp. I noticed a big difference in hanging up. Definitely the way to go.

The parts list will be about the same. The only difference is the lower link length, they are shorter on the SW3 by about a 1/4".

Tanis 03-01-2007 07:01 PM

Brad, is that after bending the lowers or before?

After bending. The lowers on the SW2 should measure just under 4 1/4" to the center of the rod ends. The lowers for the SW3 will measure just under 4" to the center of the rod ends.

Tanis 03-01-2007 07:15 PM

Cool, thanks8) I figured it was.

TLTCrawlin 03-01-2007 07:19 PM

TURTLE 03-05-2007 10:38 PM

for sure guys this thing is amazing! plenty of room for any tranny (that ive seen) oh its just great! there was a little flex on the open side, but cut some braces and its fine. imagine the final product will be spectacular!

You are the the bigest POSER on this site..... "I need a SW3!" your trying to sell the SW2 you have for a scale rig and can't hang with the BIG DOGS so STAY on the porch!

srfrkyle1234 03-14-2007 01:25 AM

So... Bender.. In all of the Shaggin' Wagons you are running the same style stick pack! Do you have something else up your sleeve? or does that config just rock in your opinion?

Rc EnthuSiasTs 03-14-2007 07:59 AM

i cant speak for anyone else here, but i have tried a couple of different ways to mount my stick pack, and having it up front is the best way. I might get a fat rock servo mount though to get the cg lower.
But i have not got to try a pack were i could put 4 cells up front and 3 in the back, that might be a pretty good set up. just my .02

I like running standard stick packs. I think the extra weight helps, over the smaller lighter packs. I may try running a lighter pack in the future though, since I've never run one.

666 03-14-2007 09:17 AM

With my SW3 I have tried running a custom 6,7, and 8 cell AA pack, a custom 4 up front 2 in the back sub c, and a 2100 lipo pack. They all seemed to screw up it's climbing ability. IMO the regular old 6 cell sub c is the way to go. It plants the weight up front where you need it and gives a little center weight also.

I DID however switch to the Fat Rock battery/servo mount, that made a BIG differance!;-)

sods 03-14-2007 10:46 AM

damn bender, looks like I'll be upgrading my sw2.
can't wait to get my hands on one, even got the bug body ready
to go for it."thumbsup"

blue-beard 03-14-2007 11:02 AM

Looks great Bender. 8)

So the real question is, who is going to sell me there used SW2 cahssis for a steal of a deal, once they upgrade to the SW3? :flipoff:

solly 03-14-2007 12:35 PM

so does the sw3 come with links that are bent. if you bend the links on your own how do you get them equal length? does the sw3 have to have bent links?

Tanis 03-14-2007 07:13 PM

It doesn't have to have bent links, but it helps in the clearance department. I bent mine in a vice.
