| Finally finished my first crawler..
Well here is what ya get when you use the SEARCH button. Don't post all that much just read a lot, and I mean a lot....Other peoples idea's, what to get and what not to get, etc.. etc...so here is what you end up with... BMVII Chassis (modified quite a bit ) RC4wd R2 Trans Modified front and rear diffs with set screws and pins (explain later) RC4wd narrowed bead locks Moab Tires Tobee wheel wideners Holmes Hyperion motor Mamba Maxx ESC 4/5 cell 2000mah batteries from cheaperbatterypack.com 7 cell and so many numerous parts from the local hobby shop shelf stock parts.. Rear wedge thanks DEZ for the help Custom made carrier beaing to move trans forward. Made a front dig. Had to design everything around that chassis needs to flex so nothing could bind or restrict the movement. Tell me what ya think or hate about it.. Crawls pretty darn good... Still working on the body and will post so action shots and movies... Sorry pics a bit big.... Now this is a big gatorade bottle not the little mini kids one LOL |

looks great for a first crawler, all i can see that might pose a proble is the steep angle of the front axle. i may be wrong but it looks really steep. if you dont mind my asking what did you use to cover the wires, looks awesome

It is pretty steep and I hated it. I had to dremel the metal joints a bit, but it does not bind at all. moves freely.. The wire wrap is or custom hot rod harnesses. I had a spool of it laying around for years. I will see if I can get a part number for you... Thanks |

Nice job covering all those ugly wires. Where did you get the mesh wire cover? Nice rig by the way, too good for a first timer. Quote:

Nice rig man, I was just about to ask how you got that much artik but I realised its because your tranny is so far forward How does it drive? And what are you doing for a body? I found the trickyest part of the bmvii is mounting the shell My rig: Torsion CJ8 Also, what have you done there to strengthen the axles? or are they aftermarket items? Matt |
