hi there...most of the utah guys prefer masher 2k's for the varied terrain around here and about %90 of us run the novak xrs for its no reverse delay...other than the double pump and the hitec 645 is a good servo but the gears strip easy if you are like me check into chicken butt servos in the vendor section

Nice job. I have already bought some 1/4" break lines and a cheap bender. Now I need to find time, a nice plan to follow to make my first tuber. The idea is to practice first and then build. I would appriciate anyone who is willing to share their specs with me to follow. Quote:

5150, The best place to start is to draw your design first, then take your time. I royally messed up the first chassis I built, because I was in to much of a hurry. (Good thing brake line is cheap) When I drew this one I used graph paper and drew to a 1:1 scale, then I used the drawings as a template. Cloak, Thanks for confirming that, I was a little worried. Loanshark, I will try to post some of the drawings for you, but I can't untill monday. ( they are at work ) I should have more pics of this one up later tonight. |

Rc, I was going to use TLT axles , but part way into the build I got an idea to do this. The axles are made from an old kyosho nitro thrasher. I took the diff carriers and locked the A-arms to it with some plates that I built. They are not the prettiest things out there, but I think they will work. Now I have to finish grinding the bottoms smooth and do some test runs with it. So I should have some flex and action shots up tonight. But if all goes well then I can tear it down and finish tig welding it, paint and build panels. Then beat the living snot out of it! |

WOW, very interseting. looks like some good axle clearance. nice job on the mods, i admit not the prettiest but looks like it will perform well. You are going to tig weld....very nice! |

Tig welding is the only way. I have never brazed anything, and I don't feel like learning right now. Right now the frame is only tacked, and I can stand on it (235 lbs) so I think the frame will hold up. I'm just worried abouut the axles.
