Default Stock TLT ?

Stock TLT ?
Is the bottom of the chassis even with the bottom of the axles?
Also What would cause the driveshafts to bind?
Seems like the links aren't long enough but measured them and they are per the book.

Thanks.

Ok throughly pissed with my TLT.
This has been the biggest pain in the a$$ to build.
Nothing went right, nothing.
And when I finally get it all put together, it makes a loud clicking noise.
Damn near sounds like a motorcycle, LOL.
WTF?
Other than being stock, the only mod I made was the junfac tranny locker mod and JB weld the axles. The tranny and drive shafts didn't seem to want to go in right, liek there was binding or misalignment, I took it apart several times, re-read the manual.

Tamiya instructions are craptastic BTW.
I was missing one rod end and a screw or two, but had tons of extra sh!t that wasn't even mentioned.

Guess I'll try to figure out the binding/loud clicking tomorrow.
If anyone has had similar experience, and knows what the hell the clicking is, I'd appreciate a note.

Can't tell, but I can get it to click by turning the axle by hand.
Figure I'll take out both drive shafts , and hit the gas and see if it clicks, if not then it's the shafts or axles.

I may say fawk it and just wait for my scale chassis to arrive.
And run the nice new shiney gray pede tranny.

Figured out my problem the stock links when I made them I made them just a little to short, which caused the drive shafts to bind.
Stupid metric system. Lucky for my I had a tape measure with both measurements on it. To short and the drive shafts bind to long and they fall out. The little stocker runs great with my 8t double flat wire motor in it, LOL.

Guess I'll bash it till my crawler parts come in.
Wish I had a camera, this thing is fast............

Well as much fun as a locked axle stock TLT with an 8 turn double flat wire motor is, it turns out to be to much motor for it.
The chassis torqueing over and the 3 wheel motion on take off from the motor should have been an indication, but I didn't heed the warning. It busted up the JBweld inside axle or worse. Pic's of that to come. I also broke the ear off of one of these:

And broke the axle housing near the knuckle.

Since I have to replace it anyway. What's the best upgrade?
The ones off the Blackfoot?

yes, blackfoot would be a good change, can install w/o mod and will increase by 1/2 inch I think? so just enough of a wider stance and not expensive ($10 I think?)

How do those axle "c"'s work?
Replace the stock ends or slide over or what?

Man it was something else to get it up to max speed with out flipping it.
Also it would spin all 4 tires on take off, I was running a 6 cell 3000 mah pack strapped to the top of the chassis. Hitting the brakes would flip it forward. Of if it laid over on it's side and I hit the gas it would spin around and jump and hop and bounce, was crazy to watch. I gota get a video camera..............
