Default front dig

hi i may sound stupid but i still dont get how front dig works i noe it helps to steer but iono how it is setup with the disconnecting the shaft so how does it re connect?

there is a write up in The Hustler thread My PIMP SLAP build on this type of DIG SET UP ! really all dig is , it is away to unlock / open the rear drive shaft & stop the rear wheels from turning . then you turn your front wheels to the left or right and burn the tires . The rig will spin around really tight (less back ups) this helps in comps to keep your points lower . also it helps if you rig is going down a vert (acts as breaks) I hope this helps you understand.
