I used the stock shocks on my K2-3L when I first built it.

96744 K2-3L Bronco

They work o.k. just gives you a higher COG though.

I'm sorry to inform you that you'll need to come up with 40 bucks.
The stock shocks are just too soft (stock TLT is a low-leverage canti set up) and there are no readily available replacement springs that fit them.
Since you asked, here's a shot of my links, from underneath.
Nothing special going on here, standard 4-link w/ the uppers triangulated behind the servos. The lowers are sleeved with Paper-Mate pen barrels for extra slipperyness. The skidplate is thermoformed 1/8" Kydex. Shocks are Hot Bodies T/E Maxx units. Driveshafts are dogbone style, custom made from 3/16" .080 aluminum tubing with either stock or HPI dogbones cut in half and press-fit in the ends.

Side view:

Another angle - you can see the plastic spacers I used to mount the shocks and links inboard with the stock mounting point
Servo plates are cut from 1/8" aluminum sheet stock.

These shocks are probably your best option - Hot Bodies Maxx shocks, 20 bucks per pair. Utterly reliable, and attractive to boot.

those shocks wont actually work any good on this specific chassis. the best thing to do is get some of the tamiya on road car shocks or some shortys from run2jeepin. the stockers will work for a little while but they will be bad for driveline angle

I had the stock shocks on my chassis for about 10 mins, maybe shorter. You will need to go buy shocks.

I run associtated alluminum threaded shocks on mine. The JP from r2j will work great though. As far as links I use the build doc specs.

Mine is more of a scaler, but still very capable.
