| Aubie Tuber. Found one.
Well ever since I saw Gimbals tubers I have always wanted one. When Crawlfest came around and the Grand Prize was an Aubie G2 Tuber from Tubewerks I really wanted one. Well the winner of the tuber passed it and who knows what happend after that. (Good going ED) Well I was on Ebay a few weeks ago and this one popped up. I probably paid way too much for it but I still like this style of tuber. It was powder coated and very well worn but not dented or thrashed. Took it down to a friends powder coating shop to have it sand blasted. About 10 seconds later it was done. I shot it with engine orange and used the panels for patterns to make lexan panels. Took the lexan and covered it with CF and you can see the results. The original tuber didn't come with a roof so I made my own. The WB is about 14 inches right now. I don't plan on using it for a comp rig, but I do have some plans for a skid plate project and bringing the WB down to 12 or 12.5 inches. I am really digging all the tubers out there. I still can't wait to get one from Gimbal. This should hold me over till then. These pics show how it I bought it on Ebay. Last edited by FrankyRizzo; 03-20-2007 at 11:42 PM. |

Actually I have a stampede really cut down laying down int it. It just fits. I am pretty amazed how clean the components look in it. I just need to hide the antenna better.

Nice looking rig! Just curious -- I noticed the mashers were on backwards. Are you of the school that they grip better that way? I've seen a few that like them that way. |
