did you grind the lip on the yoke down or remove the e clip on the pinion shaft?

dont remove the e-clip. what have you done to the pinion shaft? flat spot it on the opposite side if you havnt already. plastic or steel yokes? cross drill the pinion shaft and crosspin it instead of set screws.

Ok ya I was wondering if I needed to put a flat spot on the other side, I just have the plastic yokes for now and I did take that lip off it. Ill have to try the flat spot and drill a hole through it. Thanks guys

Just note that if you put a hole in the pinion and you have a pretty beffy setup or brushless the torque will eventually elongate the hole and it will break. It will take awhile but it will eventually will happen. Try the flat spot first and see how long it lasts.

yeah, i was going to say i wouldnt cross pin unless you go with the steel yokes. although, pinions are expendable.

I had the same problem. Go to steel yokes w/ 2 set screws and use some loctite. I have not had a problem since.

Post back AFTER you try and drill the pinion shaft out!!

The whole reason I did it my way was because i got tired of drilling 3mm holes into my finger! :(

you don't have to drill all the way through just use a drill bit and just give it a dimple for the set screw to set in, and don't forget the loc-tite ( it works on plastic also )
