An out of the Box TLT sells for roughly 130 to 165 both on Ebay and in the stores. For used, they may go a little less. Modified, they can jump pretty good. However, the prices you were talking about sound more like the TXT not the TLT-1 which is the big daddy 1:10 scale. I could be wrong on the prices because they may have gone up some since I bought mine. That would suck because I could go for a few more

well its not really rc inclined. do you have any skills at moding rc cars and trucks? Have you done it before? basically you could try to find a longer dog bone that would work and just make longer links for it and instal the longer dogbones and you would also need to make longer links to go to the cants. thats about the most basic thing you could do. But if you have some skill at using tools and working with metal you could make a custom chassis and instal a different tranny like a stampede tranny or theres even someone making one with a tamiya three speed tranny. You will also need to lock the diffs. i would recommend doing that during assembly of the truck so you dont have to take your axels apart the day after you put them togeather the first time. Oh yeah straight out of the box new its like 150 from tower hobbies. If someone is paying 300 for one it better have some mighty fine electronics in it and be modified. The one of tower doesnt have an esc trannsmitter receiver battery or motor.

Pinkfloyd - pedesrule is correct. Unless you have some understanding or are VERY interested in learning it all, this kit isn't for you. Once I am finished with mine, I can help you out though. I am at the 4 link and custom chassis right now. Custom trans gear reduction is in the mail. However, my recent package of R/C truck parts and Clod Busters was ripped off from my front porch when the USPS dropped it off So now I am out money and parts. I am so pissed. However, enough about my issues. I will let you know more as my project proceeds.

dang that really sucks about your package. I had some of my neighbors steal something off my porch once but we got it back. They took it and put it in their gerage and we went over there for a cookout and saw it in their gerage. We asked them about it and they gave it back and we havent talked since. Anyway over the time ive had my tlt ive noticed some short commings from it. First of all the stock 4 link linkages really suck. I bent two of min on a fall. I also bent the peice that holds the upper links to the chassis on that fall. Also when i try to bolt up my stampede rims it doesnt sit flush like the tlt rims. Its looks like its not all the way on the hex but ive checked and it is. Whats the problem? anybody else had this problem?

I don't know about stampede wheels, but for my HPI's I had to put these little converters on. The hex fit, but the hole for the yoke was too large, so sometimes it went on at an angle. With the little spacers, they fit with no problems.

Oh, for those that would like the suspension smoothed out, I placed traxxas balls into the tamiya ball ends, because the traxxas balls are slightly smaller, there is ALOT less friction.
