That's where they break, every time. Right now your only option is to replace them when they break. RCP is making CVD's that will eliminate this issue, but they are'nt ready to release them yet. I remember reading a thread about guys having stock TLT axles cryogenically treated to make them harder, but it's been a couple months ago. I don't think they came to any kind of workable conclusion with them. Your layout of what you are using does not sound unusual - if you were running a big outrunner I would'nt be surprised, but a 55t lather? Are you relieving the axles to get more steering range? It seems weird to me that you always break the left front... Last edited by Big Mike; 03-28-2007 at 11:21 AM. |

| i cut and trimmed front shaftr/cups for more steering and trimmed plastic gearbox. I work for Bruckner Hobbies and my boss, who has also gotten into crawling says that the cup has a sharp point near the slot for dogbon and on sharp turns is slowly cutting the axle, till it breaks. This makes sense. He says i can bevel the slots with the dremel to eliminate this. Maybe the front left cup is the sharpest and that is why i am always breaking that one.... Thanks for the help guys...BTW, know where i can get my hands on those cvd's..and just ho much stronger are rc4wd's shafts than stock...u think i would have same problem.... |
