Yep. I was able to shave the tranny down enough to not have to widen the chassis. I am using the 96mm T-Maxx Turnbuckles for my lower links and the 108mm T-Maxx Turnbuckles for my upper links. I locked the stampede dif with JB KWIK. It is the same as JB Weld, but it sets up quicker.
96 mm for lower
108 for upper

LOL massive downword angle on axles LOL. I got what u meant man.

Nope, that is right. I have shorter lower links. The axles are level and and stay that way through the whole travel of the suspension.

longer upper links rotate the axels to there is a less extreme pinion angle, and since to go the same distance, as the lowers, with the triangulated links they have to be longer.

It was a rockbuster chassis, and I got my tranny from a whole stampede that I got on eBay.

Nice job! I was curios...when you buy a stampede tranny does that come with everything you need or do you still need to buy gears? Also does anyone have the part number for the tranny?

the answer to your question about when you buy a pede tranny is you dont buy a pede tranny. There isnt one part number by traxxas named "pede tranny". You either buy an entire truck (new or used) or buy it in parts from traxxas. You have to buy the tranny case, all the gears, slipper clutch, ouputs, diff, etc. Sound expensive? well it can be.

look in the sticky on tlts, i believe the part numbers are in there.

y put it in sideways so both the front and the rear axles can get power int really the only possible solution!

Old thread but I wanted to see if you could post some pictures of the tranny close-up?

I don't see any problem getting it to fit in there but I noticed that your motor is mounted so that it's pinion is powering the diff it looks like and then you have a sepreat pinion powering the spur?!?!?

It may have been the picture or it could just be that I'm going crazy but I know that you did something different than just shaving it and ploping it in.
Picts. or just explain what your motor's pinion is powering and I'll get the rest.
Thnx.

why it looks like he is powering his diff as you say is because he has an extra gear reduction unit in there called the gd600... you can see it in the 5th pic... its the oval off the motor down to the right

You think it's the same, but it's not. It is not as strong as the original JB-Weld.

I have locked my TXT diffs with both and the KWIK turns to powder eventually.

Hmmm I was wondering about that...thanks for the reply so I know that it's not just me. I think that I'll give this a try since my TLT is in pieces anyways but I'll just go straight Stampede Tranny and use the pinion/spur combo for gear reduction.

Well, lucky for me, I havn't had any problems with it yet. I have locked the diffs in my clod with JB KWIK also and it has not screwed up yet. I'll give it time...

I have a few questions for you. You swapped the metal brackets around on the axles with the triangle one on top and the one that was there on the back of the axle, right? And the lower links mount to the bottom of the one on the back, along with the shocks on top, and the upper links mount on the triangle one? I'm going by the pic you posted that shows how you use that fuel line tubing.
