I just pulled this old thing out of the closet:

That's an old Gopher Tube chassis. It has aluminum body panels and a somewhat crude aluminum battery guard on the front axle. It is running droop suspension with Traxxas shocks and very soft springs under the piston that came from The Crawler store to help with stability as the tube chassis combined with normal shocks makes it quite top heavy. It has an old Losi XXX-T stadium truck transmission modified to work in a crawler (I was a kid without a real job at the time). It has a Mamba Max ESC I stole from that XXX-T of mine (I was sick of just zipping around a field with it, don't regret it one bit). It is running a 55T Integy motor and an HS-645MG Hitec servo. It has the cheap AM radio and receiver that came with the RTR XXX-T 8-10 years ago LOL. The suspension links and steering links are traxxis ends on some threaded rod from the hardware store with an automotive brake line sleeve over the threaded rod. The servo mount/ battery plate was from either The Crawler Store or RC4WD (I forget which). It has Traxxas driveshafts. The rims are some of the first beadlocks from Axial (I won them in a raffle with my local crawler group). There is some lead weight coiled inside the Rim where the axle goes (Not inside the tire though). The tires are Losi Rock Claws.

She never won a comp but she did decently, especially for a high school kid that only got to crawl on rocks a couple times a month due to lack of transportation.
