| Found a new spot took the Boyer out on the rocks
I Found a new crawl spot just outside of Los Gatos at Lexington Resevior. Its a lot closer than going up to Castle Rock for all you Nor cal Bay area crawlers. There are tons of areas all around the resivior just like this one. some much bigger. I brought my actros trail rig out to do some testing but my extended driveshafts didnt last long so I decided to switch my boyers status from shelf queen to rock rashed runner. Here are some pics of the spot and the boyer on the rocks. I also have a bunch of video clips ill post up as soon as I make the movie. |

Sweet. I have been by there several times, but have never seen anything. Then again, maybe it was always under water. Where is that location? Closer to San Jose side or Santa Cruz side? -Sam |

is the spot on the side closer to the highway, or on the other side? Also i found a route that allows me to get to castle rock from scotts valley ( near santa cruz) in about 30- 40 min. So how do you rate it compared to castle?

The problem with Lexington is on the weekends the shore lines get busy with guys fishing from the shores and most of them target rocks on the shoreline because that is a good spot that fish hang out. Another problem is having to pay for parking. I don't know for sure if you have to pay to park in every lot but usually that is the case. In this pic the water level is down and the rock pile is higher up on the shore line where the yellow pin is. | |

| crawl spot
The spot is on the opposite side of the lake from the freeway. Although its not the only one I saw out there, Its a little lower down than the map that badger posted shows a bit past that parking lot in the lower right. I dont think you have to pay for parking if you park on the side of the road like I did instead of in the lots.

So, we think we were at the spot you described danky, or at least part of it... Oh, and I think Sam and Dean are calling me "Kur-plunk" now after I slipped into the water trying to save my rig, I missed.... You're welcome for the laugh guys!! |

THAT had to be the funniest moment that will live on in my memory for years to come. Ker-Plunk (the H2O artist formerly known as Art), made some sort of sound while Dean and I were crawling on the opposite side of the rocks. I figured his rig went into the water based on the sound we heard, but I wasn't sure. So I yelled over and heard nothing other than man noises. Dean asked me if his rig went into the water, but I said I wasn't sure. So I went over the rock and looked down and there was Ker-Plunk standing in the water pulling the cover off of his controller trying to save all his electronics. I admit it. My first reaction was a stomach turning laugh attack instead of a worry for if he was ok. It was definitely a shock to see, but I hope the rig survived the spill. I am still wondering how you were able to find your rig under that water. That was icky water Thanks for the trail ride guys. They were ok rocks. Fun for about an hour, but not so much of a comp spot. It had some good trail ride paths, but the danger of water was just a tad high and the rocks were easy to slip off of. Fun for a quick getaway, but that's about it. Maybe there is more, but we didn't see anything really. -Sam |
