I opened up this link expecting some lava crawling action, but to my surpise I see none....... Why?? Seriously, I have friends in Kailua-Kona and the wife and I took a vacation over there for about 3 weeks a couple years ago and I was amazed at the amount of lava flow that was around Kona. At the time I was thining more about mountain biking, 4 wheeling and gneral sight seeing then RC's but those lava flows would be sweet to crawl in if you could afford tires. Especialy just a couple miles north of kona where the lava tubes are woudl be some sweet areas to crawl. |

Road trip on the Big Island..... Been there, done that. When I was there I put 3000 miles on the rental car!!!! Every day when our friends would have to go to work, we just got in the car and went exploring. I even some how got the rental car stuck in that soft lava rock on the shoulder of the road once..... But it was all good because some locals came by and helped me out. I was absolutely amazed at how much the terrain changes around the island. I can think of SOOO may areas that would be pretty sweet crawling. Now if I can just find more rocky terrain around here that was close.......
