| Yet another tuber
Started a tuber tonight out of 1/4" solid steel. I'm basing it off of my last unibody crawler. Just making it smaller and a tuber because of the rules.

| If they would change the rules to fit my needs I wouldn't have to change. Thanks Mike (Etype R) is going to be the test pilot on this one. I'm shure he will tell me what sucks. |

It's only 9"'s long so it'll be light. The only other 1/4" will be the bottum four posts that that holds the tranny on. The links will bolt to the four posts. The cab part will be solid 1/8" Here is a wack *** atempt at drawing it in paint. EDIT: this is going to be one ugly mother, but it won't be *** Last edited by Cole82; 04-23-2007 at 08:14 PM. |

Looks...well, I can't tell yet. As far as solid rod, I have made over 25 tube/solid rod chassis'. I prefer solid for its strength, and how little you need to run to get that strength. I use tubing on the pieces that are just for looks. Can't wait to see the finished chassis. |

| IT will be done weather or not I will have it is another question. This is comp truck not made to look like anything. It's just meeting the requirements. The chassis is allmost done. I need to clean up some of the joints. Drill and tap some shock mount holes. Also needs a roof and a hood to be legal. I moved the cab back so the tranny could be more easaly removed. That was one thing I didn't like about the other truck. |

A couple stat's Less than 4' of tubing and less than 1 brazing rod. It's safe to say it's minimal.

Cole, I am pretty sure you need tube that runs behind the skid plate as well to be legal. Or at least the tubing must be 3 1/2 inches in height, but they have not really defined that yet. Might wanna add it just to be safe. Looking good though. You suck at MS paint, you should just stick to making stuff and making us wait to see your vision |

Yeah I was thinking something like that Cole, as long as they are not in the way of links. Also what TLT said, would make it look better Start the bars from the outside points of the roof, taper them into one center point on the back bumper, or maybe spaced a inch apart? You call that art? |

You guys want me to add more weight. Bumpers that's funny those are shock mounts. If I add anything more to this one it'll be like this. It should keep the rule NAT-Z's quiet. This one is slightly different from the other. The shocks are more upright and it's slightly lower. |

Yeah that was the other way I was thinking, just cause the way that looks good would hit links..... Cole you are gonna make them ban the use of 1/8" rod for structural use |
