OK, OK now I see what u guys are saying about the verticle trans. After three weeks or crawling with it this way I think wana either build a tuber or mod the CF chassis for horizontal trans. What do u guys think?

Default Update: way more comp!

Been working on this rig a bunch lately, here is a list of new mods:

-Stadium truck body
-Clocked tranny 90 degrees and added a Delrin skid plate
-Adjusted shocks for lower ride height
-Crawlmaster with Mamba 25
-1400mAh, 9cell battery pack from Cheap Battery Packs.com
-Novak voltage reg with 5645 servo up front (already stripped gears though)
-Axial beadlocks with 2x 1/8" air holes drilled, Losi Rock Claws, Red Kreepy Krawlers and 3oz. of stick-on leads in front only (these things hook up!)
-Sock it to ya' dig modified ever so slightly
-RC4WD straight axle kit in rear and knuckles upfront (alrady lost screws and they come lose all the time)
-Fatrock front servo mount and axle C's
-MIP CVD's = bullet proof

This thing wheels better than ever!

This rig is no more, it has been modded to a scaler. See new thread:

Oh no, not another FJ....

I was going to delete thread but will leave for prosperity.

Its been a long, long time since I've been in this thread or worked on this rig. I was feeling nostaligic recently and since I had a set of built up AX10 axles laying around I thought to my self why not get ol' "carbon sides" back up and running again. I always loved how this truck wheeled so I'm excited to bring back my very first chassis design and make a go of it especially after all I've learned in the last year.

First up I designed a new delrin skid plate that inboards the lower links and has a lip that covers the bottom of the chassis plate.

Then I mounted up my first built AX10 axles and losi crawler shockes, I put 10mm of fule tubing on the shock shafts to limit articulation a bit.

Then I quickly threw on my OG AX10 wheels with the same claws as before, I ended up with 2 and 5/8 inch ground clearance under the chassis .

I hope to slap a AX10 trans in it soon and scrounge up some radio gear to get her running as a back up / visitor rig.
