Default New TLT CF chassis

just finished machining it, tomorrow I'll assemble it to se how it works, the chassis itself is pretty light, just 40gr.

nice work!!

one suggestion i would make is to either chamfer or fillet the bottom a bit more (it's boxy edge might get hung up...)

or...

run the skid plate all the way out the the edge with a nice chamfer/fillet on it...

also...

don't forget to run a bead of CA along all of these cut edges, so you don't get splintering....

looks very good. I think that you should make the skid plate out of delrin. Not only is it slippery but it is a little heavy and will keep the weight low.

I don't usually comment on people's builds, but that is gorgeous. The thin skid, with larger area for the screws is a nice touch.
What is the thickness of the CF and do you have any more info on how you designed/machined the chassis? Manual/CNC?

Nice design, I like the backbone for bending stiffness and the fact that it's just three different components, how is the torsional ridgidity?

Bender. You simply amaze me, I sent him some suggestions/opinions, and asked if he was going to sell these as a vendor, and if he needs help, or a tester Id tear apart my certain TLT to run this chassis this summer.

Im not out for a free product. Ill pay for a prototype.

I'm not saying you're looking for a free chassis.

I don't see a blue vendor's star, so he shouldn't be selling anything. And this design looks very familiar to me too.

I'm not planing going on production, I only machine my custom parts as a hobby, normally it's cheapper to buy an aftermarket part than building yoursef, but it's allways cool to have something exclusive. Bender you are right, I took the general idea from your chassis, I wanted something that performed good at first shot so I took the idea from the best

Regarding the chassis It's CNC machined and I did it with some scratch 2mm CF plates I got in my garage, It whould work better with 3mm CF but I don't have any now. I used the 3 pieces desing before in a Clod chassis and rigidity was pretty good, I've adapted the idea as it gives a unique design tough.

Thank's for the technical advice guys, I'll make the radius on the bottom nylon plate

by the way this is the 3 pieces clod chassis I did some years ago, I thing I allready posted it in the Clod section.

i get the CF in a local manufacturer, they make custom bike parts, it's not a cheap CF but It's good www.carbonoracing.com , you will not find any dimenssions because they custom cut the plates under customer requirements, I've bought up tu 5mm thickness plates, I don't know if they ship overseas.

Yeh, I got the Ebay crap too. You can try Extreme RC and Penguin RC. They both will sell you sheets.

X2...Looks great! 3mm cf would be nicer, but you already know that...2mm will work and I really like the skidplate design.
